Geekery past and present!

Thanks so much to the brilliant crowd who showed up for The Spectacular Dungeon Crawl – you were all great! So many first time crawlers showed up – and also a few on the stage, with stellar debut performances from Patrick O’Duffy and Lisa-Skye, alongside the always amazing Brenna Courtney Glazebrook! We hope to have you all back again soon; perhaps next time, on August 1? (Expect some details of that show shortly!) Keep an eye out for new shows from Lisa-Skye and Brenna in the upcoming Melbourne Fringe Festival, and check out Patrick’s ebooks on his web site: he’s giving away a couple of them for free until July 14.

Couldn’t come to our first ever superhero themed show? We’ll have a recap soon, but in the meantime check out what you missed over at the Melbtown blog, where Dan reviewed us: we’re ‘comedy improv at its finest’! (It’s such a nice review, we don’t feel like correcting his use of the North American “improv” instead of “impro”…)

After all that, we couldn’t blame you if you are impatient for some more Dungeon Crawl action  – so we’re pleased to say you can get a taste of of the action this Friday the 13th of July, when our Dungeon Master Ben McKenzie helps launch the literary journal Geek Mook at the Bella Union. You may remember we held a special fundraiser event for Geek Mook – Dungeon Mook – around this time last year. Now the journal is ready, and this Friday Ben will perform a special mini Dungeon Crawl where you, the audience, will be the players! Plus there will be readings from other contributors and you can get your hands on a copy of the Mook itself – and we can tell you, it’s amazing. Find out more via the Geek Mook launch Faccebook event.

See you there!

I… I didn’t know that impro was American… I was young… I used auto correct… It wasn’t my fault! The perfectionist in me forced me to fix it all up now though.

It’s okay Dan: only hardcore impro nerds like me actually care. But I appreciate that you took the time to change it! ;)
