As mentioned last night, the Emerging Writers’ Festival is coming up at the end of the month, and Dungeon Crawl fans may be particularly interested in their Revenge of the Nerds slide night on May 30. Hosted by your regular Dungeon Master, Ben McKenzie, it’s an evening of pecha kucha style quick-fire presentations from writers exposing the geeky sides of themselves. The line-up is amazing and includes Dungeon Crawl alumnus Andrew McClelland and political comedian and all-round amazing woman Courteney Hocking. It’s all happening from 7:30 at the Workers Club in Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, and admission is a measly $12 ($8 concession)! You might also notice a little bit of reorganisation on the site; the main Dungeon Crawl page is due for an overhaul, and as a preliminary strike, I’ve moved the summary of our past adventures to a new page, The Campaign Chronicle. You can check it out for brief descriptions of all our previous Crawls, with links to the full recaps where they exist. Not that you need to in order to follow the plot of our latest adventure; every Dungeon Crawl is self contained (at least so far). Watch out for further improvements to the site in the coming month.

This week in Adelaide Karin Muiznieks appears in the Cabaret Fringe Festival with a showcase of her songs from the last five years. We’ve often described Karin as a musical genius, and if you need proof, check out On Reflection at La Bohème from tonight until Saturday. And fret not if you’re in Melbourne; in July, after appearing in Dungeon Crawl and the Deathly Philosopher Prince’s Goblet of Azkaban, Karin and co-cabaret-conspirator Louise Joy McCrae have two shows in the Melbourne Cabaret Festival -World War Wonderful (fresh from its rebirth with a new cast in the Adelaide Fringe) and Filthy Secrets.

In Sydney tomorrow night, Lou Sanz begins a run of Not Suitable For Children at TAP Gallery. While Lou is yet to appear in a Shaolin Punk production, we’ve supported much of her work, including The Skirt Network and her previous solo shows; we’d recommend checking her out if you like your comedy dark and smoky.

Also tonight, wherever you are, you can tune into ABC1 for the premiere of Lawrence Leung‘s new show Unbelievable. Watch as Lawrence explores the world of psychics, aliens, magic and…well, lots of stuff we do in Dungeon Crawl, really. Tune in 9:30 PM Wednesdays for the next few weeks.

Finally (for now) you can catch Tripod – including crawlers Scott “Scod” Edgar and Steven “Gatesy” Gates – doing a regular spot in Melbourne on Sundays this month at the Toff in Town. Unfortunately the ticketing links are all for specific Sundays, but you can find ‘em via the Toff’s shows page.

The AGSC’s fourth meeting is at the Bella Union, Trades Hall, starting at 5:30 on Sunday, September 21; tickets are $15 full/$10 concession or group, and you can get them at the door or via the Bella Union web site.

You can also catch Ben at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre benefit gig 23 Positions in a One Night Stand, where he’ll be performing one of the hits of Prince. It’s on March 29 as part of Comedy @ Trades.

March 29 is also the night of Earth Hour, when Ben will be conducting a candlelit tour of historic Trades Hall with the aid of local expert Jacob.
