We’ve almost finalised our line-ups for the Melbourne Fringe season!

Tonight at 10:30 PM for session two, we’ll be joined by actor and director Scott Gooding (back for a second go after appearing on Tuesday as Mosely, the dwarven druid), renowned improviser and McGuffin co-director Sean Fabri, stand-up comedian Toby Halligan (Political Asylum) and writer, DJ and broadcaster Richard Watts (Man About Town, 3RRR).

On Saturday, for our earlier 6 PM show, we’ve confirmed the delightfully foppish comedy stylings of Andrew McClelland (Truth Be Told) and the incredibly talented voice, mind and body of Casey Bennetto (Keating!, Half-Arsed Thursdays). We’ll have two other guests as well – keep your eyes peeled for news of their identities!

The good news is that Dungeon Crawl started with a bang in Melbourne last night! Our guest party – Scott Gooding, Bart Freebairn, Kate O’Neill and Adam McKenzie – rocked it old school, tracking down the evil dragon who burned down the local tavern. Along they way they held a touching funeral for a vicious wolf, made a hand puppet out of a bat, set up a (drop) bear trap and bit the dragon’s epiglottis while tranformed into a badger. All in all, an excellent experience – and there are still two more for those of you who want to come along! We’re technically sold out for Saturday’s show, but we might be able to squeeze a few more people in the standing room only at the back, so please do try your luck at the door.

And now for the bad news – unfortunately, and with late notice, this year’s World’s Funniest Island event has been cancelled – so there will be no Sydney performances of Dungeon Crawl there this month. There’s a brief statement on the Island’s web site regarding the reasons for the cancellation. Sorry to all our Sydney friends, fans and guests – we’re just as disappointed as you are! But we hope to bring some Shaolin Punk madness up your way eventually.

Tonight, the Dungeon Crawl begins again! Join your Dungeon Master Ben McKenzie and his monstrous companion Richard McKenzie as they run a team of guest comedians through an improvised fantasy adventure. Tonight, we’ll be joined by McGuffin star Kate O’Neill (Two in a Million), Hounds alumni Adam McKenzie (yes, that makes three McKenzies), and director and actor Scott Gooding (Eric, A Study in Scarlet (A Study Of), The Gift Horse), and brilliantly whimsical funny man Bart Freebairn (A Breathtaking Magical Journey into the Ordinary).
