Well, just as A Record or an OBE launched to a packed house and critical acclaim last night, so do other shows launch across the city as the Melbourne International Comedy Festival enters full swing. Some of the other comedians involved in the Melbourne Museum Comedy Tour open their own shows tonight, and OBE co-star Rob Lloyd has already blasted off with his show. Here are some of the friends of Shaolin Punk who you can catch at MICF 2008:

Remember you can get special ticket prices when booking multiple shows at Trades Hall – including OBE and the shows above!

The opening night of Comedy @ Trades was a great success, and the packed audience attending A Record or an OBE was in fine form! And, in perhaps the first review posted for the Comedy Festival (not counting those based on previews), we already have a review from Australian Stage Online, who described OBE as “inspired Goodies silliness”.

There are a whole lot of shows on at Comedy @ Trades, with great acts including Hound of the Baskervilles, Bec Hill, Andrew McClelland, Courtney Hocking, Adam Vincent, Cath Jamieson, Die Roten Punkte… It’s a big list! And if you want to see more than one, you can get special cheap tickets.

The Daily Treble is perfect if you’re looking for a big night of comedy – it gets you cheaper tickets for three shows on the one night! (A Record or an OBE, at half an hour early in the evening, serves as a great starter for a Daily Treble.) Or, if you’d rather spread it out, the Tight Five (named for term comedians use to describe a five minute spot of top notch material) gets tickets for five different shows for any Wednesday or Thursday night – at the cheapest price! Both deals are a great way to enjoy the unique atmosphere of Trades Hall during the Festival.

Of course, you can get dirt cheap tickets to OBE with either deal: $12 for a Daily Treble ticket, and only $10 for a Tight Five.
