…if by “home” we mean back to normal, post-Comedy Festival life, then yes, this week we are homeward bound! But the Late Night edition of Dungeon Crawl is going out in style, with a terrific line-up of guests including Barry Award nominee DeAnne Smith (About Freakin’ Time), one of the busiest men in the Comedy Festival Scott Brennan (Talking Poofy, Spontaneous Broadway), improviser extraordinaire Michelle Nussey (The Big Hoo-Haa) and Raw Comedy finalist and Comedy Zone veteran Laura Davis (The Dog in the Ink), plus some extra special guests: old friend and Anarchist Nick Caddaye (Filthy Secrets) and veteran storytellers James Dowdeswell and Sarah Bennetto (Storytellers Club)! And some others, probably. Who will they be? Well, we don’t know yet. I mean, we know who they might be, but when we’re not sure, it’s much more fun to keep it a surprise, yes? We’re sure we’ll see you there at 11 PM to find out…

And of course, just because it’s the last Late Night show, don’t go thinking we’re going anywhere; the monthly Dungeon Crawl continues in our normal, first Wednesday of the month 8:30 slot beginning in May – kicking off with a special Star Wars themed show on (when else?) May the 4th!

Yes, we’re already into week three of the Comedy Festival – which is sad, in a way, because it means there are only two more Late Night Dungeon Crawls left.

This week’s crew have their work cut out for them following last weeks’s party, in which a Bloodbowl player, an upper-class barbarian, an Orcish chartered accountant and a reviewer for the Herald-Sun delivered the dying message of a seemingly innocent traveller to her pregnant wife, only to find out the whole thing was a trap to capture and eat the toughest adventurers! (And let me take this opportunity to say that we don’t believe allowing women to marry each other would lead to cannibalism, it’s just that this otherwise happily married pair of lesbians happened to be killers for the sake of our adventure.)

Our guests this week include Zack Adams (Love Songs for Future Girl), Adam McKenzie (Watson in The Super Secret Awesome Show), Danny McGinlay (Food Dude: Recipes For Disaster), Louise McCrea (Filthy Secrets) and probably even more! Come check us out at the Bella Union bar, 11 PM this Wednesday, April 13. It’s lucky for some…after all, it’s a better than average roll on a d20!

Also, earlier the same night you can catch your Dungeon Master Ben McKenzie in two other shows: the Melbourne Museum Comedy Tour at 6 PM (though the opening night is just about sold out!), and then as MC for the Rocket Clock Story Slam at 8:30 at the Bella Union bar – the same venue as Dungeon Crawl! So really, you’ve no excuse not to come to both.

This week’s Late Night Dungeon Crawl will be huge! Braving the ire (and fire) of the dungeon monsters are ABC1 star Lawrence Leung (Lawrence Leung Wants a Jetpack), Canadian sensation DeAnne Smith (About Freakin’ Time), the man who puts the “Scott Edgar” into Scott Edgar and the Universe and Tripod, Scott Edgar and returning from last week, Toby Halligan (Diary Leaks, Electile Dysfunction) and Dave Bloustien (Good News Week, A Complete History of Western Philosophy)! Plus of course your regular Dungeon Master Ben McKenzie, and monster-of-the-week Richard McKenzie.

While the delightful Bec Hill (Bec Hill Didn’t Want to Play Your Stupid Game Anyway) sadly won’t be able to join us, there just might be a few more special guests – and in any case, this should be the biggest Dungeon Crawl yet!

See you there at 11 PM this Wednesday, April 6, at the Bella Union.
