Set List - Dan Walmsley, Ben McKenzie, Karin Muiznieks

Join cabaret superstar Karin Muiznieks (Give My Regards to Broady), rock’n'roll nerd Ben McKenzie (Science-ology) and musical impro genius Dan Walmsley (Musical Director, Impro Sundae) as they present their explosive Fringe Festival premiere: Set List.

Part homage, part parody, Set List revels in the nuances, characters and stories behind one genre of music – with every note and lyric made up from audience suggestions. We grab your favourite ol’ musical genres and pack them full of up-to-the minute audience suggestions to create an all new, once-in-a-lifetime Set List of songs tailored just for you!

Each night will feature a different musical genre – folk, jazz or rock – provided by brilliant local musicians, new character comedy provided by Melbourne’s best improvisers and a complete Set List of songs provided by you!

It’s the relaxed joy of your favourite band with all the chaotic thrill of improvised comedy.

Set List explodes into Trades Hall as part of this year’s Melbourne Fringe Festival – but we’re pre-releasing it upon the world for four nights only in a smoking season at The Butterfly Club, complete with special guests; the impro-vocative Andy McClelland and mini musical genius Em Muiznieks.

Both seasons are extremely limited so bookings are essential.

  1. [...] Set List preview season – the newest venture from my production company, Shaolin Punk, is an improvised music gig. The show proper doesn’t start until Fringe, but you can catch an early preview at The Butterfly Club from August 21 to 24. You’ll probably have noticed this clashes with my Science Week gigs, so I’ll only be performing at the first show on Thursday, August 21. Don’t let that stop you going on another night, though! Details can be found here. [...]
